Autumn Workshops

Our teachers also have specific expertise they enjoy sharing with the community through special weekend workshops.  Our upcoming workshops are listed below.

Yoga for New Students with Kristina

No experience necessary!

A new mini-series for students new to yoga.
Join Kristina for a class to experience yoga for the very first time. If you have wanted to try yoga and wanted a safe place for instruction, come to this class. It will be fun and relaxing!

Introduction to Meditation (Dhyana) with George

4 Fridays: Sept. 20, 27; Oct. 4, 11
7:00 – 8:00 PM
$80 for series
No experience necessary.

 Along with poses (asana) and breath work (pranayama), meditation (dhyana) is one of the eight limbs of Yoga. In this mini-class series, you will receive an introduction to this important aspect of yoga and gain a strong foundation for a personal practice. 

Drop-ins and make ups do not apply.  This is a progressive series with each class providing a foundation for the next class.

Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation with Barbara

4 Wednesdays: Oct 2, 9, 16, 23

We would prefer pre-registration, but if you would rather drop in, you are welcome to do so.

Our stressful existence is amplified in these rapidly changing times. Mindfulness Meditation provides many benefits by, for example, reducing blood pressure, calming the sympathetic flight-fight nervous system, and bringing peace of mind.

In this mini-class series, Barbara guides you through an introduction to simple Mindfulness Meditations you can do to reduce your stress at work and home.

Joanna’s Love Your Back Yoga Workshop

Saturday, October 5

Many students suffer from needless back pain due to poor posture, driving in cars and sitting slumped over, and walking off center. This workshop teaches you love your back with postures that support and strengthen your lower back. (No serious disc injuries)

Angela’s Restorative Yoga Workshop

 Join Angela for a workshop to relax into autumn with restorative poses and Pranayama (breathing) that bring a deep sense of relaxation.

Angela’s Happy Hamstrings Yoga Workshop

Tight hamstrings can be frustrating on many levels. They affect our posture, can cause chronic strain on discs & low back muscles, causing pain and making it challenging to bend forward. We’ll explore poses and modifications that address tight hamstrings and poses that help strengthen them, too. Handout with a short daily sequence included. (No serious disc injuries)
